Summary:

The Production Assistant Manager will assist the Production Manager in managing the day-to-day operations of the department, carrying out supervisory responsibilities such as organizing, planning, and directing work as assigned by management.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee costing process by analyzing and resolving costing issues
  • Resolve color, fitting, trim, packing, delivery, and production quality issues
  • Participate in weekly touch base meetings to discuss development and production issues
  • Build and maintain a strong team relationship with vendors and internal departments
  • Communicate daily with overseas offices and vendors to resolve issues and follow-up on production process
  • Collaborate with vendors to execute company’s business and production capacity plans, ensuring that company’s buying needs are met
  • Oversee product development stage to ensure maximum product adoption rate during buying reviews
  • Ensure products are executed pursuant to copyright, global labeling, testing compliance, and sizing laws
  • Interview, hire, and train newly hired employees for the development and expansion of production teams; Encourage, challenge, and motivate team members
  • Conduct focal reviews and evaluations for employees at headquarters and overseas offices

Requirements:

  • BFA or BA in Fashion Merchandising, Business, or related field preferred
  • Must have at least 5 years of production & managerial experience
  • Bilingual preferred
  • Must possess both solid understanding of garment construction as well as technical knowledge of production
  • Must have strong understanding of fabric types and costing requirements of garments
  • Must be proactive and possess the ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Must have exceptional organizational & managerial skills
  • Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Must have strong knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
